Commercial Description:
Shiner Hefeweizen (Hef-ay-vite-zen) is a classic unfiltered Bavarian-style wheat brew. Once poured into a glass, the distinctively cloudy Shiner Hefeweizen delivers a fresh, satisfying flavor from start to finish.

A good pour into my glass gave me a nice big fluffy head that is slowly melting away above the hazy sunny yellow liquid. The aroma had some lemon peel, banana, and yeast. The flavor also had some lemon elements but not as sharp along with a clove and sweet light malty thing going on which I find a bit odd for the style, although it’s categorized here as an American Wheat rather than a Hefeweizen...which if you taste it it kinda makes sense. The mouthfeel is a bit heavy and strangely rich for a wheat beer, it seems it could’ve done well with a bit more carbonation...the finish is quite sweet as well. Overall a farily easy drinking beer and wedge of lemon would so some good here in balancing out the sweet malt. Really not a bad beer, despite the skeptics.

Cloudy golden body with a medium white head. Heavy citrus accents in the aroma, lemon is the most prevalent. Sweet body, wheat, hops and citrus make up the majority of the taste. Ending is bitter.

Light malty aroma with a definate balance towards the hops. Hop aroma of grass with citrus notes. Also had some banana and honey-ness to the smell. White diminishing head. Sweet flavor and medium body.

a fairly macro "heffe". For the 11.50pm beer run its a decent choice. Unflitered but far from living. Prototypical heffeweizen aromas with atypically high levels.

I just remember having this at a brew fest and thinking "is this hefe-bud or what?."Sorry, but I was really turned off by this beer.

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a big lasting white head. Lemon and banana aroma. Tastes like a piece of banana bread with a slice of lemon. Mild with no real aftertaste. I’m sure I am biased because it comes from my old home state but I like it. Not exciting or terribly complex but a decent drink.
