Aroma is malty with a very slight hint of spice in the background. Flavor is very weak, no hefe flavor to be found. Not a horrible beer, but definitely not a good hefe. cheshirecassie (2), Michigan, USA does not count | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2009 Very beautiful golden red color -- not typical of hefeweizens by other brewers. One of my favorite hefeweizens though! Best to try it cold, from the tap at the brewery tasting room. Still good from the bottle, though. 6ROW (258), corpus christi, Texas, USA

Big bubbles cascading to the surface like it has been artificially carbonated by injecting it into the bottle. BORING, Fruity aroma, light banana and some clove, sweet malt. Tastes like a pale pilsner. Sweet, malty, finishes crisp. OK for a newbie, not the best Hefe I’ve had. Overall, it is just a hazy American Wheat Ale. BeerVirgin72 (778), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

Poured from bottle. Clear golden orange color. Aroma was non existant. Flavor was more along the lines of a light pilsner. There was nothing resembling the hefe here. Maybe a slight crisp grass flavor. Very watery. Very bland. Drain pour for me. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA

I cant even figure out what its supposed to be. It reminds me of a homebrew I made out of a bunch of out dated and left over ingredients. It was crap to superdude1979 (61), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 31, 2009 I find with most shiner products they either taste very similar to a macro in their same category, or they actually deliver a beer with a variety of taste and flavour. While I do not think the taste of their Hefeweizen is too great, it is strong and a bit on the sour side, leaves a spice taste in my mouth long after consumption and it is hard to match this up with any food. I like Hefeweizen to start off with the spice/citrus flavour, but end smooth and subtle, this beer is the opposite, it starts off crisp, and ends strong. As for the person who wrote that it dilutes, well I let mine sit for 5 minutes to see if it would happen, it did not.
