| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 14, 2005 A little thin and lacking lemon and spice to be rated with the higher end GH’s. Great hot weather beer. Since this winter is supposed to be warm, I’m sure the summer brews will bounce back into production. To the dismay of those who enjoy the winter seasonals. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 12, 2005 $1.49 for a 12-oz single bottle. Cloudy yellow with a large white head. Smells like "beer." Bitter, funkiness in the mouth. Does not taste like a hefeweizen or even an American wheat to me. Blah NachlamSie (1657), Tennessee, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Oct 9, 2005 bottle. Pours a murky piss color with a typical thin head.The aroma is very citrusy sweet. More sweetness in the flavor with a slight spiciness. Not too awful. tronraner (1939), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 9, 2005 Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with thin, white head. The aroma is lemon/grapefruit zest, some yeast, some astringent. The flavor is the typical wheat with a touch of citrus, but tends toward the bland side. There are quite a few off flavors, though. I’m not impressed. TheBeerOrg (1593), Kentucky, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 3, 2005 Pours cloudy light golden. Mild aroma of citrus (orange peel?), and some dusty yeastiness. Taste is old hops and bland wheat. Doesn’t have the crisp wheat flavor of a great Bavarian weizen. Still, lots of wheat maltiness in the finish. Also somewhat of an airy, bland (cardboard?) finish. Light bodied and highly carbonated. To its credit, I’ve had many worse American wheat beers, but this is lacking any sort of grand vision for beer greatness. Makes me wish there was an American reinheitsgebot that kept unscrupulus brewers from naming their beers things they aren’t. Calling this hefeweizen offends me. ampp (152), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 30, 2005 Updated: Feb 19, 2007yellow cloudy color with a little orange mixed in. It pours with a creamy white head that stays a short time. The aroma is subtle.. some citrus and malt.. The first sip was watery with some spicy bite in the finish. Not a lot of flavor, but I notice some pepper and lemon as it warms a little. Not a spectacular wheat, but it’s a cut above the mass market american stuff.
Tried again a year later.. As this warms, even more grapefruit and spice come out. It is a nice blend. pjk33 (384), Sligo - Curllsville Heights, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 23, 2005 Call this a Hefe if you want, but this one tastes more like a pale ale to me. I don’t believe that they used Hefeweizen yeast, that’s for sure as there isn’t much clove, spice, etc. I did like the taste and the nose, as both were full of citrus, pine, and a little pineapple. Cloudy and light orange-tan, it is a decent offering. A little bitter, but nicely balanced and enjoyable. Thanks Chris Brown!
