Aroma is quite weak but has some yeast and lemon. Flavor is slightly sour with tones of lemon and grapefruit, hints of hopps and a very light yeast presence. Finishes sour and lemony. jtxx (141), san antonio, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2005 Maybe Shiners best effort. Better on tap than bottled. Nice little head and the lemon actually helps. Good summer beer. Bockyhorsey (2546), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Mar 8, 2005 Bottle. Recently have had some hefeweizen’s on tap at some establishments. So this one is a hero of beers compared to those. Cloudy and actually had some carbination. Could detect some aroma of wheat. Went down smooth enough. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Mar 6, 2005 Bottle poured a hazy gold with a good white head and decent lacing.
Aroma is soapy and reminds me of a swill beer.
Flavor is sour with a nasty finish.
Not a good Hefeizen at all. OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA
| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Feb 24, 2005 This stuff is sour with an aftertaste like that of the smell of the bottom of a dumpster. No wonder they put a hobo on the front of the bottle. I usually love unfiltered weizens but this totally sucked IndianaRed (1559), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 19, 2005 Bottle Pours a very light slightly hazy golden color with a dense thick white head. Aroma is definatelty a wheat beer but has a distinctive German/Belgian yeasty note. Flavor is light and a bit swet. Very mild grain flavors and pleasant but not much of a backbone. Very littel bittering hops and a soft carbonation. Slight bready aftertaste. Simple and fairly tasty. ivan9856 (129), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 15, 2005 I sampled the draft version at Lost Dog Café, Arlington, Virginia. It poured a hazy bright yellow with a large, tight white head. It left little lacing. There also was little aroma, but I may have been thrown off by the customary lemon wedge. Initial flavor was grapefruit citrus and a touch of honey. Mid-palate revealed off flavors and finished with a stale, slightly metallic aftertaste. Disappointing. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 14, 2005 Bottle. Upon the first few sips of this, it seems to be quite good, with honey, wheat, a touch of sourness and light citrus all coming together to be quite refreshing. However, the refreshment wears off, and the beer warms considerably. Now, it seems to be an overly sweet, extract-tasting mess of wheat, sharp/soured notes and a strange, lightly stale finish. Fairly watery consistency, moderate carbonation. Aroma is not much to speak of, just light lemon, honey and perhaps some hops.
