Commercial Description:
Effervescent, this summer brew is fashioned after the Kolsch biers that originated in Cologne, Germany, in the 1800s. Hallertau, Magnum, and Mount Hood hops combine for an especially clean, crisp finish.

Color is nice and golden. Malty aroma without any hop overtones. Head is thick and foamy but goes down rather quickly. Taste is smooth and light with no hop bitterness on the palate or in the finish. Very drinkable but a rather bland beer. It’s label says it is brewed in the German style but I would have to disagree.

On tap at the Crescent Moon Alehouse. Cloudy gold in color with a frothy white head. Remarkable citrus flavor- in fact strong lemon taste and aroma! This tastes a little bit like a kolsch, but not quite there. Burnt hop finish.

Biscuity, crackery, good hop zip. A bit sulphurous in the nose, the occasional off flavor. Initially seems to finish very quickly, going a bit bready, but getting clingy the more I drink. Intense gold, fun label. Not too bad.

I picked one up in a bottle today just so I could answer questions about it at my job. Had a thick head. Familiar smell in the nose that I couldn’t put my finger on. Very bland taste, like a watered down heffe. Wouldn’t buy it again.

Picked up a six of this at Whip-In Liquors in Austin, Tx. Ideal for this 36 degree Austin late winter evening! Pours a light golden with little to no head. Aroma is stale and corny. Flavor has some brief honey notes which fades into metallic blandness.Mouthfeel is metallic. Why did I buy a whole six?

Any of you who have had the misfortune of spending a summer in Texas anywhere east of the Llano Estacado know it is, in a word, Hell. For any brewer to commemorate this miserable period of time should be horsewhipped. Weak hops supported by an odd sour taste.

Enjoyable, liked it better than regular Shiner Bock. Drank with my friend Aceofhearts, guy who introduced me to this site, actually.
