Commercial Description:
“Kosmos Spoetzl knew how to brew great beer. Born in Bavaria, Kosmos’ mastery of German brewing carried him as far as Egypt before he found his way to the small Texas town of Shiner. Our proud brewery still carries his name and commitment to excellence in brewing. This full-flavored, hop-jacked lager is every bit as unique as the man himself and our way of saluting the brewmaster who started it all.”

What a big, frothy white head on this one!  Big-bubbled frothy lacing.  Clear golden color with slow but steady carbonation.  Musky sweet lager aroma.  Flavor a little sour and bitter, almost pilsener-like.  The top of my mouth feels like it’s shriveling up.  Better than I expected: it’s missing that bitter metallic flavor, and that’s a good thing.  Mineral water-like finish.

Light amber and sparkling clear. White head that disappears rapidly. Not much on nose but a hint of grass/straw. Light bodied and not much character or finish for a ’reserve’ beer. Expected much more.

Pours tan with a thick white that dissipates quickly. Taste like flat carbonated water with a hint carmel, drinkable but not enjoyable.

Bottle [12oz] shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- c/o garthicus. Pours a clear golden-orange with an average size off-white head. Aroma: Yuck: Grain, vegetables and a bit of garbage. Sweet and watery flavour of grain and corn syrup. Light bodied. Not good at all.

The aroma is a bit dusty with nuts, toffee, yeast, and hay. The appearance is golden with an average head for this type of beer. The flavor is like the aroma which is somewhat unique. The palate is average. Overall it’s not a bad little beer. The aroma is a bit odd but nothing bad.

Very light clear pour, smells a little off, nice orange-sweet taste, bitter aftertaste. They’ve made better beers that could have been named after Kosmos. It was a waste to name it after him, and a waste to have beeen my 400th beer.
