| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 17, 2009 2009 Bottle. For what Kosmos Reserve is, it’s a decent beer. A throw-back to the good ol’ days of Texas brewing. Aroma of a refined, more complex Pabst Blue Ribbon, if you can believe it. Palate is cloudy, almost feeling unfiltered, allowing you to taste the wheaty elements well. I would not, as the commercial description does, call it "hop-jacked." Hops are present in the aroma, but not much in the flavor. Overall, not bad. I wish this was offered on its own (not in a collection pack)...I’d try it again. tronraner (1939), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a bold golden color with fluffly white head. The aroma is herbal and piney hops mostly, with a slight sweet caramel note beneath it and some light general maltiness. The flavor is dusty malt with a slight, dry toastiness to it. What I’m most surprised, and impressed, by, though, is the hop profile. It’s quite nuanced and spot on. Ample herbal bitterness keeps it dry, crisp, and refreshing. Pine and citrus hop notes bounce around, too, giving just the right amount of complexity. The hops are assertive, clean, and graceful. It finishes dry and crisp with a dusty aftertaste. I’ve gotta say, I disagree with most of the other ratings so far. I’m enjoying this beer quite a bit. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Jun 14, 2009 I wasn’t crazy about it. Tasted like your standard Macro brew American light lager. Suttree (2748), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Clear orange, nice rocky white head. Malty aroma, with a bit of a vegetal note. Nicely crisp. Mildly hoppy at first, then a touch of bready malt. Decent and quaffable. WesKBob (321), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Pours a golden amber color with thin head. Aroma is sweet malts, but very weak. Flavor is sweet, but with a slightly skunky taste and a bit of metallic. Finish is thin and fizzy. Not one of Shiner’s finer moments. cheapdark (2050), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 5, 2009 Clean smell, pale lager look with a slightly scummy top. Somewhat strong malty taste. Turns a little fruity at times. Goes down fairly easy. Has that typical shiner personality. Decent finsh, could have more manners.
