Slightly smoky dusty nose with hints of fruit and spice. Brilliant deep gold color, crystal clear, medium head. Mouth full of smoke, some honey sweetness, mild bitterness. Big carbonation, lighter body, smokiness is big at first, but ends abruptly. Not bad, and definitely a beer that would be best with food rather than by itself. Good lighter smoked beer.

Yellow with a white head and lace. Corn paper, pepper, and light smoke. Flavor is light malt, light smoke, and pepper. Thin and a tad watery.

I like smoked beer. This beer has smoke, so I like it. I don’t believe the underlying Helles has a lot to recommend it, though. I cannot think of anything to say about the quality of the malt flavor, etc. But it’s smoked, and that’s nice.

I really like this, but don’t really know why. It was a bit light for my tastes, but the mesquite was well done. Very obvious right from the bottle, even before pouring. The finish is thick and robust. I don’t want to use the term "meaty" but let’s face it, that’s probably the best word for it. I’m looking forward to marinating a steak with this soon.

Pours a clear dark gold with a thin white head. Weak aroma of mesquite. Flavor is mostly mesquite wood... tastes a lot like my grilled chicken! Kind of strange in a beer, but I suppose that’s what they’re going for. Some sweet malt in the background. Pretty simple but not bad.

Bottle at lithy’s Septemberfest. Pours gold with white head. The aroma is fireplace smoke, creosote, and some corn syrup. The flavor is much better: smoky bacon, some graininess and a meaty finish. Quite simplistic, but also quite drinkable.

golden color with little head. Smell of smoke, like from a 2 day old grill. taste is of course smoke, but thin mouthfeel. The smoke flavor stays for a bit in the aftertaste. Very nice smoke beer if I must say so
