(12oz bottle) Pours a clear golden body with a small quickly dissipating white head. Aroma of skunk, grass, metallic, body odor, toasted grain, and smoke. Flavor of toasted grain, subtle smoke, light caramel, and corn.

Bottle thanks to MaltOMeal: Pours a transparent bright golden with a small froth of spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of semi-sweet pale slightly grainy German malt has some subtle light smoke character that comes out more as it warms. Starts with decent fullness and sweet light caramel maltiness with some slightly grassy noble hops and soft smoky undertones before a drier, toasty bittersweet finish. A pretty good attempt at the style, especially from Shiner.

Pours copper/gold with a thin white head. Smells of perfume, light spice, some smoke. Tastes smoky and caramelly with some nice citrussy elements. The smoke compliments this one well.

filtered, force-carbonated, medium yellow, small white head. nose is mild ashtray smoke (burnt paper, burnt corn kernels, burnt dried hay, etc.) with some semi-sweet corn and cracked barley, but artificial and metallic. flavor not much different: metallic, twangy malt sweetness, poor malt structure throughout - thin and watery and only getting worse in the finish. nothing good about it.

Single bottle buy (Thanks, Mario!) from the Binny’s in Orland Park, IL: It poured a clear golden body with a short head that lingered none too long. No lace at all. Odd aroma - honey, ash tray, and vanilla. The flavor actually wasn’t too bad, a light generic smokiness covering a sweet honey malt. Still, a bit thin and not one that I’d care to repeat.

Dry dark straw color with a taller wispy vanilla tinged, wispy, white head. Hints of smoke rest upon a light unassuming lager (pale malt with grain and corn). I do seem to smell roasted corn. Some iodine and peat also in the scent. LIght start in the flavors. A hint of caramel followed by a peat and light smoke taste. Finish is dry and lightly smokey. A decent mesquite flavor, but not enough malt goodness to back it up. A simple smoke pale lager. I really need to get to Bamberg again.
