Very dry, a little bit of hops. A medium bodied Irish stout. Not carbonated as much as it should have been.

Enjoyed a half pint of this beer, pulled from the beer engine at the bar at the Ship Inn in Milford, NJ. Pours to a beautiful, dark brown to ebony color, with a tight white head that fades, and a soft carbonation. The nose on this beer is excellent, with good aroma of dark malts, coffee, and dark roast. The palate is soft and full on the tongue, with lots of good dark malt, sweet malt, dark chocolate, and mild roast flavor. This beer finishes with some more good coffee flavors up front, then ends dry and roasty, with the roast lingering. Excellent pint of stout. Served at cellar temperatue, this beer breathes, and you really can enjoy the aromas and flavors of this one. A great session brew, and one that works well with the classic British fare on the Ship Inn menu.

A very dark black color with a rich tan head that lasted the whole glass. This beer offered a strong mocha coffee aroma. The taste also had some mocha but also showed some smokiness definately the best of the bunch.

Another fine brew from the Ship Inn. You can only buy there beer at the Inn as they do not bottle it. If you are ever near the middle of NJ it is worth the trip. This was a fine stoudt, very heavy on the nitrogen carbonation. Coffe and cola flavors. Better the Guinness and Murphys, and cheaper too!

A very nice, simple, easy drinking stout with lots of flavor but light on the alcohol.
