honoring General Jackson, clear golden, whispy off white head, sweet carmel malt aroma, rich carmel malt flavor with a good amount of floral hop flavor and a long bitter finish, a lot more character than I was expecting from bottles with different generals on each label

Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Aug 31, 2007 Kinda like dinking sweetened Wheaties with a bit o’ lemonade squirted on it. Nice golden body with a modest white head. The aroma’s probably the best part, soft wheat malt, honey, stone fruits, and a citrus tang. Drinkable, but if I want a wheat ale, there are better ones to chose from.

shrubber85 (2833), Wallhalben, Germany Aug 3, 2007 Bottle. Sweet peach, apple and wheat malt aroma. Light amber with small head. Sour wheat malt and dry apple cider flavor. Decent body. Actually a decent Am Wheat - less sweet with more character than average. hopdog (5527), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 24, 2007 12oz bottle. Poured a medium golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of lemon pledge mixed with dish soap. Tastes of wheat, spices and citrus. Tastes on the thin and weak side. BBB63 (4199), La Porte, Indiana, USA Jul 21, 2007 Bottle and served in standard pint glass:
Clean deep golden hue with a fading head and little lace. The aroma has notes of soapy ad grassy hops, lemongrass and herbs, and a hint of dusty wheat esters. The taste starts with a dash of twang and sourness with some herbal bitterness thrown in. Very little wheat character and even the pale malt seems missing. A bad example in a world of many bad American wheat beers. Blah... LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA Mar 25, 2007 really? an american wheat? i was thinking more of a pale ale. grass and hay and some very mild hops with a little malt as well. very blah. the best part about this beer was the label. kimcgolf (824), Dacula, Georgia, USA Mar 13, 2007 Poured from the bottle to a clear, bright, golden color with an excessive amount of foam, almost half a glass, that generally dissipates to leave good lacing on the glass. Aroma was perfumy and grassy, with a hint of dough, but none of the spiciness I would expect. Flavor was hoppy and grassy, and mouthfeel was slightly tingly, all leading to a medium, slightly sour finish.
Not bad for a novelty beer, but hardly resembled a wheat..
SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Mar 7, 2007 In the bottle. Pours hazy gold with a fleeting head, post explosion. Strawlike wheaty aroma that is fairly yeasty and a bit sour smelling. Body is medium to thin with a very fizzy palate. Tartness is the dominant finish. Not up to my standards.
