The bartender at Union Jack’s knew to get a glass ready for this one because, according to her, it always gushes. Sure enough, she opened it and it spewed like cheap champagne. The resulting pour was straw yellow with an enormous white head. The aroma was weak and haylike. The flavor had hay, melon and a faint sourness (which along with the gushing would have made me think infection if it were not for the fact that every bottle that comes through here does it). The finish is like lemongrass, but leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. Thumbs down. jcwattsrugger (5532), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

I got suckered in, anyway, guess that is what they wanted. Relatively dark gold body with a thin white head. The aroma is cheap apple juice with some There is also grass and cheap tobacco. The taste has some weird colby cheese along with old lemon peels and some chewed up sugared bubblegu, This is a lame wheat beer, even by Anerican wheat beer standards. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 13, 2006 Bottle. Pale golen body with a ton of carbonation under a frothy white head. Nice lemon grassy wheat aroma. Tingly mouthfeel heavy on the carbonic acid. Sweet ginger ale flavor with a grassy lemon bite. The finish has dry wheat plus that same acidity. Too fizzy. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 1, 2006 Golden color with a plastic off-white head. Flowery aroma with sweet wheat and honey in the background. Spritzy feel. Sugar covered wheat flake flavors along with a bit of fresh grass. A breakfast on the golf course comes to mind. Still not that enjoyable. Too thin, too sweet and too much an american wheat. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA

Battle Ground Ale pours to a beautiful, bright, deep golden color, with a slight white head that fades and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose has some nice, crisp grainy pale malt aromas paired with some nice herbal hop aroma. The palate is crisp and refreshing on the tongue with some good pale malt flavors, a touch of toasty malt flavor, and some tart wheat malt flavor. Battle Ground Ale finishes with more crisp maltiness, then ends with a touch of herbal hop bitterness that balances this beer out.
