Bit of a head, very malty with focus on roasted flavor without much in the way of hops, somewhat dry finish. Nice. Certainly above average if you like malty. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 29, 2007 Bottled. Nice dry roasted-burnt malt nose, with cocoa powder, light coffee, and licorice. Mild acidic tang with neutral hoppiness. Tootsie Rolls. Dark black-brown clear, topped with huge foamy-rocky tan lacing head. Medium heavy watery body with medium carbonation. Starts with a nice dry roasted malt and coffee bitterness, light on Tootsie Roll cocoa sweetness, but well balanced. Packed with flavor throughout. Finish is a medium roasted bitterness with light acidity. Nice coffee-chocolate taste, with light dry bitter finish and after. Pretty good dry stout. jason (1625), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma is of roasted coffee, light hops. Flavor is dry, sweet malt, coffee, light chocolate. Slightly bitter. RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Pours black opaque with a small light brown head, and nice thick lacing. The scent was chocolate, coffee, figs and malt. Very coating on the palate with hints of burnt barley, roasted nuts and coffee. There was a little too much bitterness here for me. Nothing really makes this beer stand out IMO. JAF737300 (797), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 13, 2007 This pours deep brown and has the typical Irish Stout aromas of roasted and toasted malts. It drinks dry enhancing the notes of the grains. puboflyons (621), New Hampshire, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 3, 2007 Expiration date of May ’07, so it was a few months past its date when I sampled it. Kind of ironic being in New Hampshire. Poured incredibly dark with a humongous amount of light brown creamy head. Medium mouth feel and a definite chocolate aroma. Bottom line: I want to try one that’s fresher another time. jimhilt (1691), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 31, 2007 Pours a five finger brown head that fades quickly to a ring leaving traces of lace. Totally black color. Light-medium carbonation and heavy bodied. Roasted chocolate nose. Flavor is roasted chocolate, bakers chocolate finish; not a really dry stout like Guinness. $1.50 for a 12oz bottle from Capitol Convenience Concord, NH.
