An ebon hue, with crimson shining in through the corners, under a big, towering, thoughquick to crumble, soft brown head, leaving tendrils of lace behind. Aroma is slightly bitter, slightly sweet, but feels like a coco-cola too much, to me, way too much carbonation. Some cocoa, hints of coffee, soft and smooth. Brief hops, mild, then smooth malt, slight chocolate, minor espresso-ish tones, just smoothness all along. Cocoa stands on top as a cheif flavor, but the carbonation is still too high for me, and, ultimately, this stout lacks an essential mark of character. It feels too underwhelming, too easy-to-please, too low-expectations,...the carbonation clashes with whatever else the beer was trying to be...it could be smoother, could be stronger, could be bolder...but can’t...too bad...

Good dark brown color, small dark brown head that faded quickly leaving little behind. The aroma was roasty and nicely malty with a nice coffee tone and some hints of caramel along with maybe just a hint of sweetness. The flavor is malty and mildly chocolatey with a nice hint of coffee and some hops towards the end.Not bad but then again not great. It’s worth a try at any rate though.

2004 draught at KBC in Maine. Pours a deep black, with a good off-white head. Aroma of oily chocolate, hints of hops and a decent roast. Pretty decent for a dry stout, which dont normally produce much of an aroma. Flavor is heavily roasty/chocolatey and reminds me much of guiness. Very smooth, watery body, lightly bitter, but mostly lightly sweet and chocolatey. Quite drinkable, very watery and medium bodied, but it’s better than average, has a good, almost nutty finish.

Excellent roasty chocolate aroma with hints of mint and vanilla. Dark, dark mahogany color. Tan head that fails too soon. Appealing burnt flavor, but not much else. Finishes somewhat dry with little body, true to style. I had it in the bottle, but it would benefit from being served with nitrogen. Not complex enough for my tastes.

This is the least offensive stout that I’ve ever drunk, and I’m not sure that that’s a good thing. Smooth, almost portishly sweet, little body. When I finished, I looked for something else to drink.

Big roasty aroma, but this was only a slightly better than average stout. The palate really hurt this one and was very thin and watery. Almost non-existant head.

seemed awfully light for a stout. The first impression based on apperace was that the beer would be suprisingly good. It poured a dark brown/black color with a brown head with minimal lacing. Aroma was mainly a roasted coffee note. Flavour was slightly biter with a lot of roasted notes. Mouthfeel was water and all though it was a dry beer it could have been drier.

A good dry stout along the lines of Guinness. Good mouthfeel would be better with a little less carbonation. Nice, dry finish with a lingering aftertaste.
