Slighly roasted, oily and metal aroma. Large, light beige head. Bitter chocolate flavor, metallic hint, slight bitterness. Fairly water body and a little bubbly going down. Shipyard is hit and miss, this one misses IMO.

bottle-pours pitch black with a relentless tan head. aaroma of coffee, dusty yeast, slightly metallic. flavors match the aroma, which isn't a good thing. the bottle was over a year old and i think it was badly oxidized. Thanks BBB63, but this one was a dud

On tap, unfortunately nitro. So it obviously has a tight creamy head and little carbonation. Taste is of bitter chocolate coffee with a dry, bitter finish.

Dark opaque apperance with a small kahki head. Aroma is roasted barley with some buttery chocolate. Some dry roasty flavor with a touch of coffee. Finishes fairly bitter. Decent stout, but nothing more than that.

POurs a fully opaque black with a robust, but quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma is very coffee-like, with maybe a hint of caramel in there. Whoa, this is super thin and super watery to begin with. Coffee all the way through. Much too overhopped and too thin. Too unbalanced. Agree with Argo0--this is more like a porter than a stout.

Deep black pour, thin tan head. Roasted aroma. Dry taste. Coffee and a little bit of chocolate in the flavor as well. Overally pretty decent. Bought this 12 oz bottle at Beers of the World in Rochester, NY.

Deep dark brown, almost black. Thin head and decent lace. Raosty, slight burnt malted barley aromas, coffee, hint chocolate, obvious dry stout here. Medium bodied, burnt, somewhat bitter, coffeeish, smooth and decent. Nice stout. Unremarkable.

[bottle] Pours a black/deep red with a thick and fluffy tan head. Strong roasted aroma with a hint of sweet. Initial coffee taste with a followup of roasted malt and a slightly sweet finish. A bit thin, but on the whole not bad.
