Enjoyed on tap in a pub glass. The beer pours a jet black with a tan head. Aromas of caramel and roasted malt come through in the nose, as do slight notes of coffee. The palate is really smooth, a dead ringer for that benchmark of dry stouts, Guinness. The light carbonation allows for low crystal malts to shine through, followed by notes of dark chocolate, and a nicely dry finish. A good example.

Poured very black with tan/brown head. Aromas of roasted coffee are all over the nose. On the palate, more coffee, mixed in with some chocolate flavors and lactose. Quite tasty and very drinkable.

This black ale poured with a decent brown head and a coffee aroma. This is not a sweet stout but, rather, quite dry and nutty with chocolate, coffee and raisin. A little too thin but otherwise quite drinkable.

Bottle from BevMo. Pours very black with a very large tan head. Aromas of chocolate and dark toast malt. Medium minus body with mild carbonation. Flavor is chocolate, coffee and really dark malt. A bit thin, but otherwise a good drink. Seems astringent, which might equate with dry. Pretty tasty, but not to die for. I’d pick it over quite a few others.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry coffee with not much else in term of discernable characteristics. Taste is also very dry with some coffee notes and limited roasted malt notes appearance. Body is about average with goo carbonation. I thought that overall this was too dry which limited the drinkability factor.
