Bottle 355 ml
Appearance: Deep mahogany with cherry wood. Large tanned creamy , rocky head. 4+
Nose: Sweet , vinous , roasty black malts , bit of ash , plum. Dry backing on mineral hop. 8-
Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied. Malty sweets with green hops well blended with roasted walls. Quiet rich for lighter beer. Slight acidicity gives to complexity. A bit of tweaking with formula can make this brew great. Slightly off target when comes to ingredient interaction. Still quiet good.

Poured almost black with a short, almost tan head. The aroma was malt, roasted coffee and slightly sour. The flavor was better with plenty of malt, coffee and a slight bit of creamy chocolate. The mouthfeel was closer to thin than it was to medium. Overall it’s a serviceable example of the style.

Pours black with tan / dark beige head. Aroma of strong roasted malts, light chocolate. Taste was a lot lighter than anticipated in the aroma. Light roasted malts, coffee, light bitter hoppy finish, some notes of light dark fruits. Easy to drink, a little too watery.

On tap at the brewpub in Eliot, nitro. Black with a creamy tan head. Very roasty, weak body. Good coffee and burnt malt flavors. OK.

Bottle. Nice moderately sweet malty aroma. Black body, small brown head. Flavor is very roasty, almost burnt. Not unpleasant. Lots of malt, some fruit and coffee. The finish has a bit of bitter bite. Not bad at all, in fact quite well done.

Bottle, exp 11/05 ?? pours fine and dark, with slight skunky dark malt nose. first sip is a relatively nice "stout" but quickly mellows and dries to the bone. probably a bad bottle.. reminds me of kvas .. fermented black bread in eastern europe.

Pours black with great tan head. Aroma is roasty with chocolate and caramel. Flavor is much the same, but to a lesser degree. Palate is horrendously thin for a stout... Nothing too special here.

12 fl oz bottle at Svea, courtesy of joergen. Pours unclear and dark brown to black with a small and dense tan head. Berry fruity aroma with a distinct roasted malt note. Sweet fruity at first with a dark acidic roasted malty flavour following. Light wooden and dry. Bitter and mild berry fruity into the far finish with a nice hard roasted flavour and acidity.
