Shipyard Brewers Choice Special Ale Brown Ale (05-06, 09-)

Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of wheat, some earth, some pepper. Tastes earthy and chocolatey with some roasty hints on the finish.

12oz bottle pours clear deep amber and tan head with brown highlights. This has a nice aroma full of caramel malts, nuttiness and some roasty malts. The taste is similar with lots of caramel malts moving into nuttiness, a dash of chocolate and mild notes of malt roastiness. Nice brown.

Botella. Sweet caramel dark malty aroma. Sweet caramel well toasty malty and chocolate flavour with a light bitterness.

355 ml bottle from Systembolaget, Nordstan. Nice apperance. A crystal clear, deep ruby-brown colored beer with a coarse, big-bubbled tan head on top. Aroma has a pleasant sweetness of buttery, caramellish malts and roasted nuts, with a whiff of red fruits and marzipan. Flavor does not quite live up to the aroma. A light to medium malt body with a light sweetness, and also some sourish tones. Notes of peppery and earthy hops. Body is a bit underweight. Oily mouthfeel. Short malty finish, on the drier side, with a faint bitterness.

Bottle shared by juiceisloose @ otakuden’s Vero Beach Throwdown. Pours clear brown color with off white head. Toasted malt aroma. Flavor is toasted malt with some fruitiness. Slighty sweet taste. Medium body with average carbonation.

The color is clear, red-brown and the notes in the aroma are roasted malt, caramel and syrup. The sweet flavor has notes of roasted malt, caramel, light syrup, chocolate, cocoa and the finish is dry and citrussy.

Bottle. Clear brown body with a mediun off white head. Sweet malt and light roasted aroma. Flavour is light fruity and sweet malt with notes of tobacco and roasted malt. Medium bodied.
