Commercial Description:
The complexity of this limited edition brew comes from the interplay between the roasted nutty undertones of Crystal, Chocolate and Black malts and the sweetness of orange blossom honey. Balance is achieved by the addition of Warrior and Tettnang hops. Ample body and smooth mouth feel enhance drinkabilty. Don't get stung and miss this one! 6.25% alcohol by volume.

Holy crap I never rated this? Well i had enough of them :-P It was a nice enough, a little bland in my mind. Poor arrangement of hops were used in this one. Very mediocre.

Bottled (BB 08/2008)
Dark ruby color, nice creamy beige head. Chocolaty, yeasty, a bit yeasty and roasted aroma. Crisp carbonation. Sweetish chocolaty malty, hints of smoke. Certainly smooth, but not really complex. Without knowing, I couldn’t trace honey here. Aftertaste is toasted and dryish.

Bottled (thanks omhper!). Deep amber colour with huge beige fluffy head. Aroma is roasted malts, some nuts and coffee. Flavour is mild honey, roasted malts, some mild hops and coffee. Quite harsh hoppy finish and aftertaste with some really dry ashyness.

Bottle. It looks clear, but the body is dark brown, so it’s a bit hard to tell. Nice, beige head. The aroma starts with dried fruits, and soon there’s some chocolate, sweetness and apples. The flavor has an apple-fruityness too, as well as a little chocolate, dried fruits, sweetness and some hops. Full, rather dry mouthfeel. It’s a nice beer, but it doesn’t stand out in the crowd. Easy to drink, and for those not so fond of honey, nothing to be afraid of, as it hides the honey well, maybe it was more evident when it was just off the bottling line? (080118)

Bottle. Almost black body with a thick creamy beige head. Aroma of malt, honey and prunes. Flavor is much the same as aroma. A bit weak body and not totally balanced.

Bottle. A dark brown colour with a tan head. Sweet liquorice, roasted malts, caramel and a bit fruity on the nose. The flavour is roasted malts, some smoke, coffee and blackcurrants. Not much bitterness in the finish. A mediocre porter.

Pours very dark brown with just some mahogany tints coming through at the edges. Extremely large frothy brown head filled the glass. Look sort of like a root beer float. Aroma is lactose, tart. Flavor has some roasted bitterness. Try as I might, i couldn’t get any honey or sweetness out of this. The mouthfeel is moderate, perhaps a bit on the thin side.
