Like Arnold Schwarzenegger this is a wannbe American that doesn’t really live up to its billing. Lacks the hoppy punch I demand of a true IPA, and the US citrus and pineapple hop flavours are rather shy and retiring. Having said that it’s a pretty beer with a light golden brown body crowned with a thick praline cap. The absence of hops means the sweetish malts shine through, resulting in a very easy drinking beer considering the 6.5% ABV. For all the wrong reasons I quite like this! Aroma of bitter hops, citrus, sweet fruit, metal, butter, and cookie malt. Taste of bitter english hops, roasted malt, bread, nuts/almonds, fruit, toffee and some alcohol. Bitter and dry finish. An ok english style IPA. MrBeachtwig (45), Sandared, Sweden
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 10, 2008 Bottle. Medium lasting head. Brown almost orange. Hopy promising aroma. Taste is a bit fruity but does not live up to the aroma. Some bitterness, but expect more from a IPA. Not specially long aftertaste. dalepryor (172), Paducah, Kentucky, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 9, 2008 the bottle says IPA but i’m not really finding any evidence of that. It isn’t bad but it’s definitely not what you would expect. It has strong malt overtones, and hoppy finishes. Decent brew overall but not comparable to an IPA in my opinion MrManning (1655), London, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 7, 2008 Bottle courtesy of and thanks to Dchmela! My first beer from the brewery. It decanted a deep transparent amber and poured a beige two finger cap. Nice spiderweb lace was left behind. The aroma was a mix of spicy hops and rye, with toasty, caramel goodness. The flavour profile was spicier than I expceted. Quite bold with floral and rye notes and a good dose of bittering hops, leading into semi-sweet caramel malts and a finish of wood. Quite bitter and hoppy towards the finish, with an aftertaste of spicy hops and sweet cotton candy. Very tasty. I would have pegged this as an APA. Thanks Dave! smells malty, some small earthy tones. No floral or citrus hop smell. Bold taste, sweet malty, some hops on the finish. Not unpleasant but stylistically not what I want from an IPA rlgk (3378), Vårgårda, Sweden
