| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Mar 7, 2007 Tastes like a porter, with burnt, coffee flavors. Rather light on flavor but has an aftertaste that i didnt like too much. I’d rather have another shipyard or have a porter from another beer company. nick76 (2694), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 9, 2006 The aroma has toasted malt, nuts, caramel, yeast, toffee, chocolate, and hops. The appearance is light brown with a moderately sized head. The flavor has the elements from the aroma and a touch of chocolate at the end. The palate is a little thin. This beer is crisp and bitter which is unusual for a brown ale but it’s not a bad quality. But what I really like about this beer is the chocolate that is most evident in the finish. rlgk (3378), Vårgårda, Sweden
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 7, 2006 Bottle at Monk s cafe, Stockholm. Amber, ok offwhite head. Fruity, malty aroma. A bit sourish flavor, nice balanced hops, some grass and some malty notes. A bit hoppy in the finish. ruggedman (626), Portland, Maine, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 13, 2006 Purchased at the brewery. Bottle Best before 12/06...yeah i guess it was fresh. :) Flavor is sweet malty, with a bit of caramel. This is your typical brown, albeit a bit better than average i’d say, but only a bit. Really malty, better than the brewer’s choice crap they sell. eggman (45), Orlando, Florida, USA

Purchased by a friend as part of the World Market "Beers Of America" 10-pack for my 30th birthday...Pours a semi sparkling light ruby/brown with an averaged sized creamy off-white head that lasted a good while...Heavy caramel and molasses malts with light perfume hops. Has a definite buttery taste too...Full bodied and creamy with soft carbonation and a nutty finish...Very sweet chocolate with a slightly bitter butterscotch flavor coming through near the end...Overall, a great session ale. Reminds me of liquid chocolate waffles with topped with smooth maple syrup. Very nice finish, very nice beer... wilkie (1193), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

The aroma is strong of malt with a hint of flowery hops. The beer is brown on the top and tan on the bottom of the glass. The flavor is of sweet malt, with a touch of bitterness with notes maple syrup. Has an especially matly after taste. Over all I really like this brown ale. It is the first brown ale that I have really liked
