wyzzywyz22 (752), Wirral, Merseyside, England Oct 27, 2009 Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. This was disappointing. Darkish amber with a small white head. Caramel malt was the overriding characteristic in both the aroma and flavour and not a whole lot else. Some bitterness in the finish. A bit on the average side. dlovell2 (136), Columbia, Maryland, USA Oct 25, 2009 Amber color with foamy white head. Very light malt and yeast aroma. Caramel malt flavor with hoppy finish. Not especially outstanding. daknole (2800), Plantation, Florida, USA Sep 16, 2009 Hmmm, pretty boring beer but not bad for the style. Copper pour. Aromas of crackers, caramel malt and hops. Flavor is pretty light. Some light caramel malt and hops. SaintMatty (1195), Tallinn, Estonia Sep 2, 2009 Bottle (GBBF 2009) - Amber/copper coloured. Spicy malt aroma with hints of aniseed and biscuits. Nicely balanced taste with spicy malt, biscuits and hops leading to a crisp, fruity and hoppy finish. 41cubs (130), , New Jersey, USA Aug 14, 2009 Smells of lilac and light honey crackers with some potting soil. Taste is light toast in the front and macro-ashtray nastiness to finish. Weird beer. Don’t hate, but can’t like it either. Sorry Shipyard. 2009 22 oz. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 13, 2009 33cl bottle from GBBF 09, Well this isn’t too interesting. Some toasty notes, some caramel. Pretty empty on the finish too. Probably some diacetyl as well. Not really any hop either. In an English style? Well if you wanted to make a beer with diacetyl and not much flavour then yes, it is in an English style. oh6gdx (8794), Vasa, Finland Aug 5, 2009 Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is diacetyl and some grass along with malts. Flavour is very much boring. Very boring. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Jul 30, 2009 Pours copper with full tan head. The aroma is muted malts mixing with spicy to earthy hops. The taste is malty with a layer of caramel to start before spicy hops and a dash of citrus acidity like bitterness come to the surface. By midway mild earthiness, spicy and floral hops all sort of over running the malts in a mild mannered way. It ends with a slight hop tingle, a mild bit of roast and a memory of malt sweetness.
