Bottle. Creamy malt and orange peel aroma with a hint of hops. Medium amber with small head. Slightly sour barley malt flavor with light hops finish. Toasted malt aftertaste. A nice beer but it would really take a 5/5 beer to live up to the legacy of Colonel Chamberlain and his 20th Maine boys.

Smells delicate and floral, some sour hops. Pours a clear bubbly golden amber color with a generous off white head. Taste is crisp, slightly metallic, well balanced hops and malts. A very good pale ale.

Draft (at Geddy’s under the Moosebreath Name). Pours mild brown with dense notes of malt. You also get notes of caramel and toasted grains. The finish is a bit dry with a light amount fo bitterness.

Pours with a frothy, initially three-finger thick, light tan colored head that sits atop lightly hazy, light amber tinged, copper colored beer. Aromas of toasty malt, caramel, green apples, green herbs and a slight lemon zest aromatic are all noticeable.

Sharp with an herbaceous bitterness that, while somewhat light, lingers from beginning to end. The hop notes here are sort of green, almost menthol like and have a grassy / hay like edge to them. Touches of green apple and perhaps some pear-like notes make up the fruit notes found in this beer. This beer is quite strange, it seems a bit too unbalanced as the hop notes are really sharp and green. Not a bad beer, it just seems a bit out of whack.

650 ml bottle from Bevmo. Clear golden amber with a fizzy white head. Grainy and malty aroma. Caramel malt, cereal grain, and bready taste with hops evident in the finish.

Expiration date of Jan 08. Pours a crisp, clean caramel-amber with a foamy off-white head. The head lasts about a minute and finally dissipates, but not entirely. The whole thing just feels and looks fresh. Delightfully light hoppy aroma. Kind of creamy mouthfeel that goes down smooth and leaves no lingering aftertaste. I enjoyed this recipe. Glad I’m close enough to be able to buy it again.

They’ve changed the bottle recently, it’s orange now. Pours an orange color. Clear with a foamy tan head. Mild yeast aroma. Very hoppy with a mild malt finish. The hops taste like aluminum. Clear and refreshing with a thin mouthfeel. Not that great. Once this six-pack is gone I probably won’t buy it again.

Pours clear gold/copper with nice retaining head. Fruity floral hops and light spice aromas, with similar flavors. The body was light and a bit watery. While a decent, refreshing brew, there was not very much substance to take it to the next level.
