cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Jun 21, 2007 22 oz. bottle from BevMo - Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a 1/2 finger off white head. Very light spotty lacing. Has a noble hop, esters, and toasted malt aroma. Flavor is toasted malt and esters. Light to medium body. Watery palate. An OK beer. mcox90 (618), Wilton, USA Jun 17, 2007 12 oz bottle consumed at fridge temp. Golden color w/ amber hue. Small white head w/o much lace at all. Light watery mouthfeel. This is a pretty average brew. It neither offends or inspires. Mild hop flavor, maybe some citrus notes in there somewhere. Gets fairly boring as it warms. Mild bitter aftertaste. Might be a good lawnmower beer. probstk (1007), Nepean, Ontario, Canada May 27, 2007 Bomber in Florida, served cold in a wine glass. MA03/07.
App.: Clear, medium amber, tiny white head.
Aroma: light licorice/molasses, toasty-roasty malts, oddly fruity (lychee??).
Palate: Medium body and carbonation.
Flav.: Similar to nose,; dry with slight bitterness.
Linc (736), Sydney, Australia May 25, 2007 Diacetyl city! Not too impressed with the massive dose of butterscotch that went up my nose when opening this one. Potential is there for a nicely balanced drop with a rose like floral hop note, but the fermentation by-products are hard to see past. redlight (1445), Winter Park, Florida, USA May 8, 2007 Bready aroma, with feint hints of english hops. Pours light yellow, blonde. Stale bread flavor, with hints of citrus hops. Flat flavor, alittle dry. SwillNoMore (105), USA May 5, 2007 Bottle, Duvel tulip, cellar temp. Best before Jan ’08. Clear reddish copper. Big fast white head, poor lacing. Aromas are malty, herbal, piney. Light to medium body, thin texture. Sweet malty flavor, dry bitter finish. There was a metallic quality which ruined it for me. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA May 1, 2007 Something of a malt aroma with citrus hop, but it leaves something of a floral impression? Very light amber color with a decently frothy near-white head. It did some lacing. Starts with a slight sour, perhaps medicinal, characteristic, reminiscent of some Siletz products, but not so strong. Definitely malt, and the finish seems decently bitter. Relatively dry. Seems a bit thin, but it’s nicely drinkable. yayforbeer (641), Orange Park, Florida, USA Apr 24, 2007 Bomber. $2.49 at Broudy’s. Pours orange-amber with a small off-white head that doesn’t last long. Malty aroma. Flavor is sort of a malt bomb with English hops. A bit of resinous puckering astringency. Interesting hop flavor buried in the malt. Notes of caramel and butterscotch. Slightly crisp on the finish. I liked it, found it drinkable and enjoyable.
