Jimmy Carter be praised. Sour yeast and malt aroma and a tight smallish head. Yeasty malt flavor is immediately cut by the hops and a steady carbonation works to keep things light and dry. Nice rendition of the style and a surprisingly good offering from Shipyard. PorterPounder (3137), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Pours a medium copper with a thin, but fluffy white head. Fresh, clean, slightly minty aroma with some underlying hints of fruit - nectarines perhaps. Good subtle bitter flavor, subtle citrus hoppiness. Some peppermint as well. Solid malty backbone - touch of maple syrup. Very solid pale ale. Would make a good session ale. Thick creamy mouthfeel. Best of the Shipyards thus far. mike mcneil (660), St Augustine, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 28, 2005 Amber-gold color with a thin, whispy head. Attractive caramel, malty, woody aroma. Mouthfeel is a bit lean but sweet flavors of caramel, toffee, spice and nuts are well appreciated. Finishes off with a long, restrained hoppy bitterness. A well done Brit-style Pale Ale. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 19, 2005 Bottle - courtesy of matta! Clear amber body with a rigid tan head. It seems "glued" to the beer and is leaving no lace as I swirl it around the glass. Aroma is slightly nutty and malty with light caramel notes and spicy hops. Taste leans heavily on the hops and backed up with lighter caramel, some earthy notes, dried nuts, and toasty malts. Body is medium and mildly carbonated. Pleasant feel on the palate. Finishes with spicy hops, light sweet maltiness, caramel, and dried nuts. Not bad at all! leitrim65 (398), Seattle, Washington, USA

The initial taste is slightly nutty and sweet with hints of caramel and perhaps bubblegum. The middle is, perhaps, a bit yeasty but it retains some sweetness. The bitterness in the trail is medium and the sweetness is light. The mouthfeel is rather thin. TBone (6741), Pori, Finland

Coppr brown, small off-white head. Nose has fruity hops and also yeasty notes. Mildly hoppy, medium-bodied. A bit sweet, English-type session ale.
