blankboy (3157), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 19, 2007 Bottle (341ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, tupalev & jerc -- courtesy of tupalev. Pours a clear golden-orange with an average size diminishing white head. Aroma and flavour of caramel malt and light oily herbal hops. Light bitter finish. Average bodied. Mediocre stuff. GregClow (2493), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 16, 2007 Bottle shared with tupalev, HogTownHarry, blankboy and jerc - tupalev’s bottle. Light amber colour. Aroma is grainy, with faint hops. Flavour is pretty much the same - mild grainy malt, faint hops in the finish. Not awful, just... there. brianjames1 (322), Northridge, California, USA Nov 11, 2007 22oz bomber. Light amber in color with small head strong presence of malts with very little hops an ok brew HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Nov 7, 2007 Bottle (341ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow and tupalev, tupalev’s bottle. Clear light amber, small head. Slightly papery aroma, light dry grainy malt, very weak hops, I guess they’re somewhat herbal. Tastes exactly as it smells - a little papery, weak malt, not much hop bitterness or alcohol or anything, really. Average body, somewhat flat ... mostly just boring; thin. SSSteve (2045), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Nov 4, 2007 hazy copper with a small head. brett, hops, caramel aroma. flavor has a good bit of brett with some caramel and plenty of peachy hops. earthy with nice balance. quite good. jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 30, 2007 Bottle. Orange-amber body with a small white head. Very muted aroma, light mushroomy notes. Very light bitterness in the flavour, muted fruity character mixed with mild dilute grains. Average to thin palate. Inoffensive, but a bit dull. 5/3/5/3/10 Moz (613), Gothenburg, Sweden Oct 28, 2007 Bottle. Clear amber colour with an off-white head. Light floral aroma with notes of vanilla. More vanilla feeling in the taste, followed by a low to medium bitterness. Wulfstan (509), California, USA Oct 25, 2007 Updated: May 28, 2008This is a red-gold with a moderate light tan head that slowly dissipates to a small lasting head. The aroma is grain and apple and a bit flowery, definitely a blend of malt and hops. The taste is fairly dry, with a definite flavour like a solid English bitter, but too bitter and burnt tasting (overly roasted malt?) near the finish, which is very biscuity. It is a decent, light bodied bitter-type beer. My only real complaint is that it is just too bitter just before the finish, so is not as smooth as I would prefer for this style. There isn’t enough malt body or flavour to balance the burnt bitter element properly.
