Not the overpowering hopfest that runs around the country (not that there is anything wrong with that), but a restrained hoppiness that one would expect from an english pale. Well done. rmussman (906), California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 5, 2007 Sampled in California suprisingly. Very nice and smooth beer. Aroma and appearance are just tame and kind of light. However the beer drinks really well and has a suprising flavor that is rich and lasting. A nice choice. Naven (883), Poway, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 26, 2006 Weak, weak, weak. Im actually suprised that this beer is rated as high as it is. No real aroma, color or flavors here. Pretty much a boring, lightly hopped seltzer water with some coloring added. Dear hop heads.....avoid this one like the plague. changeup45 (806), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Just bought this one and a few other singles at a local store with quite a few craft beers. I generally haven’t been a big fan of Shipyard so I was pleasantly surprised when I liked this one. Pours a dark golden color with a moderate head. Not much in the way of aroma but is quite flavorful. Taste consists of a little malt, floral sweetness and a nice dry hoppy bite. Good solid Pale Ale and one of the better beers I’ve sampled from this company. wyzzywyz22 (801), Wirral, Merseyside, England
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 27, 2009 Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. This was disappointing. Darkish amber with a small white head. Caramel malt was the overriding characteristic in both the aroma and flavour and not a whole lot else. Some bitterness in the finish. A bit on the average side. JAF737300 (801), Tampa, Florida, USA

You also get notes of caramel and toasted grains. The finish is a bit dry with a light amount fo bitterness. Uglyradio (776), Greenville, South Carolina, USA

It reminds me a lot of the taste of a brown ale. It look really good when I poured it out of the bottle, a nice copper color with a large white head. it feels okay in the mouth. The finish is also malty and smells matly.
