One moment, a tolerable, not great, somewhat crispy, cigar hop flavour to one of stale hops and mildew. I could gather only a few instances where something would jump on the palate. I guess what I tasted was a little bit nutti and maybe some raisons and grass. Not very well balanced and a rather dry experience. Pastor (534), Maine, USA

Aromas of yeast (yes Ringwood) light hops and mats
Flavors of hops and sweet malt, I like this one wish they had it at the shipyard brewpub (lol) down the street
Nice light mouthfeel crisp carbonation
Very drinkable good session beer

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 9, 2007 From a 22-ounce bottle. A deep amber color, very slight hoppy aroma, and fading white head. Even hop/malt flavor balance, mostly caramel flavor and non-assertive hop bitterness. Well carbonated. Clean finish. Average. Wulfstan (509), California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 25, 2007 Updated: May 28, 2008This is a red-gold with a moderate light tan head that slowly dissipates to a small lasting head. The aroma is grain and apple and a bit flowery, definitely a blend of malt and hops. The taste is fairly dry, with a definite flavour like a solid English bitter, but too bitter and burnt tasting (overly roasted malt?) near the finish, which is very biscuity. It is a decent, light bodied bitter-type beer. My only real complaint is that it is just too bitter just before the finish, so is not as smooth as I would prefer for this style. There isn’t enough malt body or flavour to balance the burnt bitter element properly. LadySusan (488), Ste-Therese, Quebec, Canada

The aroma is sweet and fruity and very light. The taste is hoppy and fruity and just the right amount of bitterness. Schultsc (486), Henderson, Nevada, USA

The aroma conveys lots of crisp, toasted grain aromatices with some herbal and spicy hops notes. The flavor is quite dry with nice grain astringency and English hops flavors of earth and fruit. Body is light and easy-going and conveys its flavors well across the palate and into the finish. Finely structured and interesting study of english grain characteristics with a pleasant hops supplement. jjuf1853 (482), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA

It has a maltier aroma and flavor as one would expect from an English Pale Ale. Nice amount of bittnerness in the aftertaste. STEPHENDR (478), California, USA
