Mouthfeel OK, slightly thin. Taste: mostly bitter, kind of sharp, finishes a little yeasty. Passable, on the bitter side, not much else for flavor. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 12, 2008 22oz Bomber with no date, poured into a pint glass. It pours a clear burnt yellow with a nice size head. There is mild carbonation action after the initial pour. Floral sweetness on the nose with a faint hint of hops. Something else there that I can’t place my finger on.
The flavors are quick to the palate and leave a nice dry finish. Bitters from the hops dominate. I was surprised that this was only 4.9 ABV as it was almost like the bitterness was trying to hide the alcohol. It’s a medium to light bodied ale with moderate carbonation.
A bit bitter for my liking, otherwise I’d call it a session. Definitely worth a try. I’d pair it with with anything grilled on a summer day. daknole (3027), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

Aromas of crackers, caramel malt and hops. Flavor is pretty light. Some light caramel malt and hops. changeup45 (802), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Just bought this one and a few other singles at a local store with quite a few craft beers. I generally haven’t been a big fan of Shipyard so I was pleasantly surprised when I liked this one. Pours a dark golden color with a moderate head. Not much in the way of aroma but is quite flavorful. Taste consists of a little malt, floral sweetness and a nice dry hoppy bite. Good solid Pale Ale and one of the better beers I’ve sampled from this company.
