(22 oz. bottle) Pours a light amber with a biscuit head. Weak malt aroma. Pretty good lacing. Mouthfeel OK, slightly thin. Taste: mostly bitter, kind of sharp, finishes a little yeasty. Passable, on the bitter side, not much else for flavor. Fine bottle depicting Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, 20th Maine Volunteer Regiment, USA.

Bottle. Clear amber colour with an off-white head. Light floral aroma with notes of vanilla. More vanilla feeling in the taste, followed by a low to medium bitterness.

Pours honey colored w/ a tall, lasting head and lace. Mild aromas of leathery malts. Medium nectar w/ good carbonation. A balanced specimen w/ mild attributes. The finish is bittered nicely. A good session brew.

22oz bottle-An amber body with a nice white head and an aroma of malt and slight hops. Taste fairly weak in the hops but it is an English Pale Ale. Not very impressed.

Pours a deep gold with a small, but creamy white head. Aromas of malt and hops with a touch of citrus peel. Flavor is malt and nuts, with a sweeter fruity hop finish. A good beer.

22oz Bomber with no date, poured into a pint glass. It pours a clear burnt yellow with a nice size head. There is mild carbonation action after the initial pour. Floral sweetness on the nose with a faint hint of hops. Something else there that I can’t place my finger on. The flavors are quick to the palate and leave a nice dry finish. Bitters from the hops dominate. I was surprised that this was only 4.9 ABV as it was almost like the bitterness was trying to hide the alcohol. It’s a medium to light bodied ale with moderate carbonation. A bit bitter for my liking, otherwise I’d call it a session. Definitely worth a try. I’d pair it with with anything grilled on a summer day.

Hmmm, pretty boring beer but not bad for the style. Copper pour. Aromas of crackers, caramel malt and hops. Flavor is pretty light. Some light caramel malt and hops.

Just bought this one and a few other singles at a local store with quite a few craft beers. I generally haven’t been a big fan of Shipyard so I was pleasantly surprised when I liked this one. Pours a dark golden color with a moderate head. Not much in the way of aroma but is quite flavorful. Taste consists of a little malt, floral sweetness and a nice dry hoppy bite. Good solid Pale Ale and one of the better beers I’ve sampled from this company.
