| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 31, 2005 I always feel a sense of relief after opening and pouring a craftbrewers Pale Ale and am rewarded with a nice medium brown gold color instead of a thin yellow fizzy. Jimmy Carter be praised. Sour yeast and malt aroma and a tight smallish head. Yeasty malt flavor is immediately cut by the hops and a steady carbonation works to keep things light and dry. Nice rendition of the style and a surprisingly good offering from Shipyard. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 16, 2005 Very nice, clean pale ale. Pours clear copper with the advertised white head. Some hops and a sour yeast up front, with smoother malt sweetness at the end. Far superior to Sierra Nevada. JAF737300 (797), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 27, 2008 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Clear copper with nice head and lace. Honey sweet aroma with mild lemon and soap, very much like a pale lager. Medium honey sweetness with mild toastiness and slight apricot fruitness. Very mild bitterness. Lingering sweet finish. Medium-light body and medium-low carbo. Tastes like a well-made and very fresh. But tastes more like a pale lager than a pale ale. Lacks the fruity spicy bitterness of an ale. As it warms up, though, it gains a lot more ale-like character, bitterness and complexity. Pretty good, but definitely let it warm up. gunhaver (1043), Tampa, Florida, USA

Very thick, creamy white head, and very creamy lacing. Malty corn aromas, with a slight hop profile. Definitely an English ale. Slight acidic hop undertones, big malty body, some citrus. Decent flavor. Fully body, quite drinkable. Watery finish. Enjoyable. Berley31 (198), New Brunswick, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 9, 2009 Bottle. Poured with a small, off-white head, that diminished to hardly anything at all. Body was mostly clear and sparkling, with a slight haze, and a beautiful dark-orange color. No real lacing to speak of. Aroma wasn’t anything special... lightly hoppy. Nice on the palate, with a light to medium body, slightly oily, and lively carbonation. Very nice flavor that starts off bitter and acidic, and finishes off... bitter, of course, but heavier hops than would have been expected. Overall, a very nice pale ale that I would easily drink again.
