Boutip (1807), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jun 13, 2008 Bottle: Poured a deep copper color ale with a good size foamy head with good retention and some nice lacing notes. Aroma of English dry hops with a nice medium sweet caramel malt base. Taste is also a well balance mix between some English style hops with some notes of delicious caramel malt. Very well balance overall with loads of character but still easily drinkable. Full body with good carbonation. Really well made and possibly helps that I got a really fresh bottle directly from the brewery.
dm9831 (601), Monee, Illinois, USA Sep 15, 2008 deep copper color, medium headtan head, some lacing. mild grapefruit aroma. mildly grapefruity flavor, slight bitterness in the finish. medium bodied. mild, uninteresting pale ale. kinda boring. zappafan99 (329), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA Aug 30, 2008 Taste 8/8 Bottle(best by 8/8) Looks: Clear pale copper, almost no head. Pretty good. jcr (848), Jasper, Indiana, USA Aug 9, 2008 Bottle. Small, fizzy, off-white head atop a clear amber body. Heavy malt aroma of caramel and grain.Lightly to moderately hopped with notes of flowers and herbs. A hint of apple and wood. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic and lightly bitter. The finish was lightly to moderately bitter and lasting. Throughout the bottle, there was a slight tartness and hint of vinegar.
jgb9348 (1846), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Aug 5, 2008 Clear golden coloured body with an orange tint and a thinnish off-white head with some rather larger bubbles rising from the bottom and sides. Aroma of fresh hops, grapefruits, pine, alcohol and strong metal. Medium-bodied; Assertive hoppiness with some astringent qualities following soon behind with a cardboardie malt and chunky nuttiness at the end. Aftertaste shows more malt than hops, but the grapefruit and citrus still ride high. Overall, a fairly strong and overly powering pale, more of an APA than an EPA to me...worth a shot if you like either of the styles, but there are far superior beers in the area that should be sampled first. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 12-July-2008, sampled about a month later on 04-August-2008.
