Pours a clear dark gold with a frothy beige head that settles to a thin creamy skin at the surface. Fruity and floral with a caramel malt backing and a distinctly phenolic note. Light to medium-bodied with a slick mouthfeel and a lightly dry and bitter finish. Toasted caramel malt up front with a lightly fruity hop backing and a mildly dry and slightly bitter end that carries just a touch of band-aid. This looks and tastes more like an ESB than it does a blonde.

Bottle: Solid offing in class. Malty flavour an easily drinkable brew that can easily lead the shipyard line in broad appeal.

Bottle (35 cl) at Delirium Café, Göteborg, Sweden. Fruity, non-complex malt aroma with some toffeish notes and some faint piney hops. Medium bodied, nice balance with a moderate bitterness.

Smells yeasty, spicy, slight citrus notes. Pours a clear bright yellow/amber color with a tiny white head. Taste is bitter with malts. Not bad.

Average slightly hoppy but fairly balanced aroma. Average body with medium hops evenly matched to the malt, just a modest bitter and alcohol after taste. Quite dry in the finish. Drinkable but fairly average for a micro. Not bad, just mediocre. Bottle from a "Captains" sampler.

bottle- flavor is very subdued as this is an attempt at making a "flagship" with appeal to the masses.

While perhaps nothing particularly exciting, this is a very good basic ale, tasty, very drinkable, and always satisfying. It has a decent but bubbly, dissipating head on a gold body. The aroma is pleasant malt and hint of hops, but hard to pinpoint specific flavours, which to me is good in a beer like this. The taste has good flavour of malt and hops, with a great balance of sweetness and bitterness with a fairly crisp finish and nice lingering flavour. The palate is smooth before the nice, crisp finish and its a good, satisfying, very drinkable basic ale.

Bottle... Poured a hazy orange with a medium sized head. Floral, malt on the nose. Well carbonated with sweet floral flavors up front, malt in the center, other fruity tart flavors, and a nice metallic, hoppy finish. I actually didn’t mind this brew.
