Classified as a golden blonde ale, I’m pleased. A little more darker than something I usually know as a blonde. Just a little lighter than yuenglings mainstay. Certainly more golden than blonde. Good sweet fruity candy cane aroma. Has a girdle on the inside edge of the glass for a head, the rest is froth. Ooooh, quite bitter hardtack candy taste. well, at least I mean by blonde ale standards. Almost as potent as many pilsners. Interesting slight metallic linger on the palate. Finish is industrial lasting and mildly impressionating. Good example of a lager impersonator. Is this a premium lager? First I think so but then I feel that pale ale-ish long bitter hop finish. Rally cap is certainly better or equal to this. My local brewpubs make the best blonde Ale I’ve tasted; Rivertowne Babbling Blonde and North Country Northern Lite. However, this is better than Ballantine XXX Ale and Golden Anniversary. RCL (1496), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA

Wierd sweet fruity glavor with a hop balance. Pretty light and drinkable, but I really am not a fan of the shipyard. badlizard (2385), Berkeley, California, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 9, 2007 Bottle. Drink by Oct. 07. Pours a cloudy amber-gold. Some head, little lacing. Fruity aroma. Light mouthfeel. Kind of sour for lack of a better word. It was OK but I like other Shipyard brews better. beerlord (215), tonawanda, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 2, 2007 Nice deep golden hue with a thick white head that leaves lace till the end. Malty aroma with a touch of stale ness to it. Malty flavor with a slightly bitter dry finish. Medium to light mouth feel. Good session brew. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 2, 2007 Golden color with a fairly fluffy white head. Sort of a juicy fruit smell. Flavor is sweet with bits of bubblegum and an unpleasant grainy finish. Beerlando (2353), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 28, 2007 Cloudy gold with a small white head. Aroma is citrus and wet grains. Very strange, sweet malty and floral flavor. I too got some bubblegum on the finish. What an odd brew. Not a fan.
