12oz. Bottle. Aroma was of apples which was a surprise. Mild sweetness on the nose. Amber on pour but held to light it is a clear golden body with decent head. Flavor had a sweet hop and malt mix that didn’t make it to malt ladden or over bitter. Smooth easy drinkable beer.

12oz bottle-Aroma of malt and rubbing alcohol on a copper color body with a decent head. Taste of hops, grass, and an aftertaste of malt. Not my thing.

(12 Fl Oz bottle at The Rover, Göteborg) Clear golden color, white head. A mix of fruity hops and acid malt scent. Fruity but malty taste, sweet from some special malt. Perhaps Wiener or Münchener malt? Normal mouthfeel, low bitterness. A slight bit spicy and sweet aftertaste.

Pours a very clear amber color with a nice off white head. Light clumpy lacing. Has a light grassy, soapy hop aroma. Has a very light toasty malt flavor. A light to medium beer with no unpleasant aftertaste. This is not my favorite style of beer, but its worth a try.

Pours with a brilliantly clear, full copper color and is topped by a frothy, initially finger and a half thick, light tan colored head. The aroma is lightly sweet with an unmistakable, shipyard signature of diacetyl. In this case the butter / butterscotch notes are more in balance than some of their other beers and it seems to work with the rest of the aromatics. The diacetyl is still the dominant note, though I also get notes of berries, toasted biscuits, toffee. The berry note really is representative of this very distinct fruity note that is in the nose. The diacetyl seems to contribute a bit to the fruitiness as well. All in all not a bad aroma, and at times it is quite enjoyable.

Up front the carbonation combines with some hops to impart a tingling sensation to my tongue. Through the middle is a spicy, herbal hop character and the finish has a fair amount of fruitiness to it. Notes of berries are prominent in the taste and are accentuated a bit by a malt sweetness that starts in the middle and continues on in the finish. This beer is really nicely hoppy; spicy hop notes combine with a zesty herbal character and all throughout is a un-ignorable biting bitterness. The diacetyl from the aroma is much muted in the flavor, though it is here at a background level. This beer, unlike many of theirs, actually has a pleasant level of diacetyl. At low levels I can tolerate it, and even enjoy it and I can appreciate that it adds to the character of this brew.

I was very surprised at how good this beer tasted. Smooth and easy to drink, I bought this as part of a multi pack and this was my favorite.

Bottled at The Rover, Gothenburg. Clear, golden with a decent white head. Malty, grassy and floral aroma. The flavor is grassy and floral with some grains and lemon. Thin to medium body. Quite drinkable, but nothing special to it. (060824)
