| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 24, 2008 Fruity aroma and a light gold poor. Flavor of fruit and malt, but tastes too light and understated. Call it an average IPA. doubleo (1104), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Aug 21, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours amber with a thin, crisp white head, specks of lace. Smells floral hoppy with some sweet malts. Tastes light and subdued floral hoppy with a big, metallic malt flavor as well. Unbalanced maltiness in my opinion. Medium body, vibrant carbonation. urnamesucks (92), New York City, New York, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 20, 2008 One of the most avergae IPA’s I’ve ever drank. If you’re an IPA freak you will enjoy this, but if not save your money and spend it elsewhere. otakuden (518), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2008 It is always a joy when I discover a new IPA which really wows me. Finding that yummy balance between ultra hop wickedness and malt calmness. Occasionally I will be in the mood for a super hopped IPA, but usually I prefer mine somewhere more around the middle with a little give and take on each end. And so, I was very pleasantly surprised and pleased with my Fuggles IPA.
On draft, my glass arrives with a good fingers width of beautiful foam, settling into a light layer of fluffy goodness. Light trails of brussels lace arc my glass as I quaff her hoppy persona. In the nose, I get apricot, malt sweetness with fruity esters, and lemony citrusy hops. Smooth malt body with more apricot in the body. Hops dance along the top and sides of my tongue, their oily citrus spice giving Fuggles that IPA bite I enjoy so much. Slightly grassy air as it settles and diminishes in my glass. A bit more caramel malts mingle with the fruit and hoppy lemon zest. Overall, very balanced. Not too malty for an IPA, and not too hoppy for my own personal tastes. Make no mistake, Fuggles is an IPA tried and true, but without being a full on hop assault on the senses.
I could definitely enjoy a couple of these with ease, maybe add in some sweet mango salsa and chips to complement the apricot and fruit esters I got, along with balancing the hop spice lemon zing. MesandSim (5851), London, Greater London, England
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 17, 2008 A Mes rate: Bottle at GBBF. Clean amber with a thin off white head. Fruity and piney hops with some delicate caramel malt. Slight soap in the finish spoils it a bit but it was never going to be a world beater anyway. rader58 (179), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Aug 16, 2008 pours a clear amber. Aroma is sweet, hoppy, and maybe corn? flavor is a bit like soap with a slight bitter finish. Swalden28 (1509), McKinney, Texas, USA

Pours a clear gold with white head.
Aroma has fruity notes. Flavor has some malt, fruity notes, with a slight bitter. Palate is medium body, high carbonation. Over all, not bad, just a little different kinda IPA.....I did like it....easy drinker. ChainGangGuy (2568), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, orange-copper body with a fizzy, frothy, white head.
Smell: Basic pale maltiness with a sweetish quality to it, along with a funky, musky Fuggles scent and touch of spice.
Taste: Pale malts with a fleeting honeyish, caramel-flavored sweetness. Peppery, floral, musky hops with a medium bitterness. Funky Ringwood flavors. Hint of grain on the crisp finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: None too pleasant, and with an entire world of India Pale Ales out there, there’s just no reason to revisit this one. Not recommended.
