Thicker and stronger in everything *except* the hops are light as mentioned. Not a bad beer, just not really an IPA. More of a reasonable golden ale. obguthr (1067), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Weak aroma of lemon peel. Amber color medium head, some lacing. Lime and thistle, quite bitter. Weak celery finish. Pretty good, but too bitter for my taste. malrubius (1004), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 17, 2007 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Clear copper yellow with off-white head. Funky aroma, like Wonder bread dipped in sour milk. Decent balance of flavors, mild malty fruity with lingering English hop bitterness. I prefer American-style IPAs, but this is drinkable in a pinch. Appearance: Clear dark amber with suspended particles of yeast. Large foaming head. Taste: strong bitter. Definitely the taste of an ale. Leaves a very strong flavor in the mouth and back of the throat. Dry. Angeloregon (2036), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 13, 2007 Copper body with a medium-sized white head. Nose of English fuggles. Very quaffable beer that was not very exciting. I don’t always need to be wowed by beers. This is a good example of a nice, mild IPA. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 28, 2007 Bottle poured into a snifter. Amber colored. Smell a bit of alcohol. Nice, smooth bitterness. Very easy to drink this mild bitterness. No terrible aftertaste. Flavor is very nice throughout the beer. It is good all the way through (not a usual thing for me and IPAs). I love me some fuggles! lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 26, 2007 Subtle milder fresh hop aroma. Sort of citrusy, with a nice sweetness in finish. Mild hop taste up front. A great beginner IPA, I’d say as its about as mild as I’ve had. Somewhat thin, but nice mild hop bitterness which fades quickly. Worth a try if you like milder IPA’s.
