Not sure what is going on with...shut-up ... .. Pours a slight murked up dark tan .. . best by April 09 .. . dried fruit and old burlap sack hop aroma .. . muddled stuff, easy to drink but no complexity or real fresh hop flavours .. . bitterness is good, but it lacks the sweetness to mellow it out .. a bit to sharp for me, or anyone really.. shipyard at its best..frightfully..

Not sure what is going on with this experiment of using Fuggles only. Appearance starts out great - yellowish to orange color, medium sized head with fine bubbles & lace. Nose is sharp citrus. Palate is razor sharp with malt in the background. Again the sharp citrus is there. Finish is somewhat sticky and has that sharp acidity.

I don’t remember much from beerfest. This one wasn’t top or bottom, but I recall not being impressed again from shipyard.

12 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass. Dark, amber-tinged gold with some chill haze and a modest light-beige head that quickly dwindles to a nebulous froth. Smells like an ESB, not an IPA. Earthy, bready, English malts and no hops to be found anywhere. Flavor is much the same. Tastes like Shipyard spiced this beer with bark and random leaves instead of hops. Solid bitterness and decent malt presence, but no appreciable hop flavor. Tannic and dry finish, overcarbonated. What on earth were they thinking?

Bottle: Poured a clear bright orangey color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry hops with nice notes of floral aromas also noticeable. Taste is also dominated by some dry English hops with nice floral aromas with light caramel malt backbone. Body is about average with good carbonation. Very well done with great usage of Fuggles hops.

(bottle from Weber St Liquor in Colorado Springs). Pours a copper color. Medium size off white head. Light alcohol aroma. Light bitter taste. Smooth finish. Soft carbonation.

Pours a clear copper brown color witha huge amount of foamy white head. Aroma is a bit subdued, sweet caramel, slight mild earthy hops. Flavor is very watery and light, then some sweetness followed by a soapy slightly piney finish. Overall, not a fan of the flavor.

Very soapy head. Jeez I screwed up on the pour a little bit, and probably will regret that the rest of my life. The beer does have a nice haze orange appearance. Head is fading away. Hey, maybe I’ll get to try this tonight! Slight off-white head. Looks pretty good, except for the fact that I managed to screw this up. Hop aroma is there, but it is not a very sharp hop aroma i.e. with the citrus or pine hop aroma. Slight citrus aroma, that is when I am able to catch an actual whiff of this thing. Slight malt sweetness as well. Ctirus aroma comes through more as the beer warms up. Slight hop bite at the first part of the gulp, but then a very weak bittering hop mixed in with some malt sweentess. Eh, not my favorite IPA. Glad I was able to find a single of this. Decent brew, but not that great.
