Nice lacing followed it down. Woodsy/floral aroma with lots of vegetal notes... not very enticing. Veggies and caramel made the first impression with bright notes of bitterness. Apple and plum were also there, along with wet grass. Finish was rather tacky, with vegetal, caramel , and cidery notes. This was alright, but couldn’t really find enjoyable qualities. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 17, 2005 Clear gold with a small white head. Smells of hay and light malt. Light to medium body. A bit of light caramel is soon dominated by grapefruit bitterness that leaves a very dry finish. Cedrtainly not complex and multidimensional, but a good drinkable session IPA. Light caramel, toffeeish, and grassy/grapefruit aroma. Quick caramel malt hit with a grassy, floral, and earthy bitter finish. Lightish body, but again a refresher. Pours a still copper-amber with a small quickly diminishing white head, some sticky lined lacing. Sweet light malt (cookie, meal) and yeast (dough) aroma, mixed with cardboard and perfumey floral fruity hops (apple, plum). Highly bitter and acidic start, perfumey fruity hop flavor with sour malt and yeast notes, lingering soapy aftertaste. Light bodied and fizzy, burpy palate. tinydancer (52), Gibsonville, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 2, 2005 Looks brassy, with a thin head. Nice aroma... has hops, caramel/butterscotch. Palate is smooth maybe a little thin. Flavor is a little disappointing. Metalic aftertaste is significant. Hops in flavor is less than expected, thus a little weak. Average at best. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 9, 2005 Light copper color, sticky retentive head with light lacing. Nose of starchy alcohol and light fragrant hops. Maybe fuggles? :) Anyways, the flavor is a bit too bitter with a little sweetness in the tail but I think unbalanced. Finishes medium bodied. Average IPA. Not as 1 dimentional as I imagined it to be. Good to know what fuggles is like though.
