| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 26, 2005 Poured an effervescent light amber iwth a tall creamy white head. Aroma of granny smith apples and slight hop bitterness. Taste is bitter hops without much character save the smallest touch of apple with a long dry toffee finish. Hmm... making IPA’s with only one hop variety doesn’t seem to be a smart idea at all. TheBeerOrg (1589), Kentucky, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 26, 2005 Pours dark golden with a mostly receding white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, and flowery hops. Taste is bready caramel maltiness with a spicy mellow hoppiness. Fuggle hops won’t bite you in the ass, this beer doesn’t have an aggressive hop profile. But ultimately the hops are still there in force, cutting through my spicy ramen with ease. The Fuggles make this an atypical IPA, I would call it an English Pale Ale. Too mellow to be fully enjoyable. Some Golding hops could have made this a bit more intense, but the beer is quite easy to drink as is. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 24, 2005 12oz. bottle. Clear amber color with a small white head. Fruity, hop aroma with some biscuit malt in the background. Flavor was somewhat buttery, with a fruity hop presence. A bit light on the malt side. westcoastbias (12), panama city, Florida, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 15, 2005 This should be considered a whole new category for IPA’s the EPA, eastern pale ale. Much less hoppier (less IPA) than its cousin to the west. Taste is fruity and a bit harsh. Different and ok. jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 12, 2005 Orange copper body, small creamy white head. Interesting hopping - fuggles is definitely different for what you expect going into an IPA. Mild nots of fruit and sweetness. Moderate bitterness in a fairly simplistic flavor profile other than the hops. Interesting flavours from the fuggles though, that I have trouble describing. Touch grassy. Average palate. Decent but odd. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 10, 2005 Amber pour, decent sized head, hops aroma is light but distinctive. Medium body, slightly sweet with not much character in the malt profiile, hops finish not really hitting my satisfaction index range. Not a drainpour, interesting only in the education of what fuggles hops is about, otherwise I’ll pass. FoolishMortal (966), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 4, 2005 Golden amber with a towering rocky white head that required three legs to pour the whole bottle. Grassy, earthen floral hop aroma with hints of fruit sweetness. Grassy bitterness with some sweet malt behind it. A rather soapy finish with hints of herbal hop. Mouthfeel is medium light.
