Commercial Description:
Imperial Porter is a full bodied, very dark, malty beer with a good roasted character coming from the Crystal, Chocolate and Black Patent Malts used in the mash. Warrior, English Fuggles, and East Kent Goldings Hops balance the malts with a good hop bite. The beer has an OG of 1.070, rounding out after fermentation with just a slight residual sweetness and cutting dry at the finish. 7.1% alcohol by volume.

Light charcoal aroma and a tiny bit of fruit. Crimson edges surround a thin black ale. YEasty at the get go, fruitiness at first, then a handsome amount of burnt malt. Some dark crystal flavor. Warm finish. Not too bad.

Poured a dark mahogany color with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, sweet chocolate, burnt toast, and a bit of smoke. Taste of chocolate, nuts, caramel, smoke, and roasted malts.

Pours dark. Nutty, solventy nose. Nutty flavors, bitter hopping, watery, astringent taste. Way to bitter yet watery and nutty to be enjoyable. I want to throw it out the window.

Bottled@Home Apperance: Pitch black with a huge, creamy, beige head and lots and lots of lacing. Aroma: Butterscotch, Caramel, Roasted malts, Chocolate and a hint of vanilla. Flavor: Roasted malts, Chocolate, Hint of metal, Dark caramel, Butterscotch, Coffee. Palate: Very sweet taste upfront with a bold bitterness at the end. A very drinkable porter. The best beer i’ve tried from this brewery so far. Not bad at all.

Thanks to ghawener. One of my favorite styles, however came up short. Light bodied and bitter, not well balanced. Reminds of Brazilian stouts.

Pours a deep black with a medium creamy light tan head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, toffee, tobacco and lightly earthy. Flavor of the same with some light smokey notes.

Bottled from Systembolaget Dark brown with a large, pretty brief, beige head. Chocolate aroma with sugary notes. A bit harsh mouthfeel. Chocolate and dark toffee in the flavour. Roasted with a bit too much sugar. Late, medium bitterness.
