Jul 23, 2009 RBESG Sheffield 2009 Grand Tasting at the Harlequin. Deep dark brown to black colour, beige head. Aroma of cream, roasted malts, bit of nutty sweetness. Flavour is malty, roasted malts, cream, bit sour, coffee. Nice, but a bit thin.

Jul 14, 2009 Bottle from Total Wine St. Pete. Very deep blackish brown pour with 1-finger tan head. Nose is rich dark choclate, dark choc/patent malt, molasses, nuts, hops. Tastes malty, rich, with dark malty chocolate, slight rauhy notes, and nuts, fig, and brown sugary notes as it warms. Starts slightly sweet and chocolatey, and ends with more raisins, earthy notes, and hops. Solid.

Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, vanilla, buttery and bready notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090612]

Jul 7, 2009 Bottle; poured a dark reddish brown; a little thicker pour than expected. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa and a bit of fruit; perhaps some vanilla. Palate was a bit thin at times. Flavor was dominated by molasses and roasted malt. Moderate hopping. A pretty bland, but not bad tasting beer.
