Apr 27, 2005 (bottle) If only I’d known that not just one of these but three would be found in the Shipyard ’Captains Collection’, I would have left the Captain for someone with weaker tastes. Pours almost clear, takes on a light straw color in glass. Tiny white fizzy head bubbles itself into oblivion in a matter of seconds. Smell barely elicits a response in nose, bearing a hint of stale bread. Body is light on the palate, and only slightly less watery than expected. Slight flavor of sourdough leaves my tongue bored and repulsed. I guess I just don’t understand the point of light beer.

Apr 14, 2005 12 oz bottle. Ridiculous massive white frothy head...golden quite bubbly body, looks force-carbonated...meek grainy nose offers little...flavor of light honey, lackluser sodden cereals, somewhat stale.

Mar 22, 2005 Bottle: pours yellow with a small white diminishing head. Light aroma of apples and grapes. Flavor is crisp and quite dry. Small fruitiness. Good for what it is. Low carb and low calorie and a good alternative to BMC lights.

Feb 8, 2005 Updated: Apr 11, 2005Very thin, failry bland. It tastes like it’s missing something, like flavor. No wonder I can buy it for 50 cents a bottle and I got a free tshirt that says Shipyard Light too, anyone want a free tshirt? Probabally the worst beer I’ve ever had.

Dec 30, 2004 This is basically a boring and bland beverage. It has alcohol, which gives it some points and there is a slight maltyness in the flavor and a hint of hops in the meager finish. I note flavors of buttered corn and a hint of butterscotch. Ahhh, It’s Drinkable… but not great!

Nov 15, 2004 Pours a one-fingered bubbly, white head that goes very quickly and leaves no lace. Clear pale yellow color. Light carbonation and very light bodied. Starts with a sweet citrus flavor, watery, finish is boring but this has more flavor than a Bud Light and less than a Sam Adams Light. Typical session beer. 83¢ for a 12oz bottle from Cumberland Farms Convenience Greenland, NH.

Nov 13, 2004 Definitely light beer, especially in the taste department. It literally tastes watered down, and the only flavor is alot of malt. I thought it would be ok considering some of Shipyard’s other products, but I guess light beer is light beer.

Oct 6, 2004 Very unpleaseant beer, I too am sorry that Shipyard felt the need to brew a beer of this nature, it’s pale & straw colored, some bubbly & over-carbonated head, but it quickly disappeared to absoutely nothing after a very short time, the pouring of the beer sounded exactly like pouring a soda, mostly absent nose, only a small hint of a corn-type aroma, very light body, thin, watery, flavors were thin & watery as well, just a touch of malt profile but not much, this beer had very little to offer
