12 oz. bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Best before Jan. 2009. Orange pour (appropriate) with a thin white head. Slight chill haze. Spices come through big in the aroma. Cinnamon mostly. Also some grainy notes. Subtle squash-like pumpkin notes in the taste along with assertive spices. Medium body.

Aroma is light, but what comes through is the pumpkin spice, the clove and nutmeg. The pour is rich golden yellow with a very small white ring of bubbles for a head. The flavor is true to the aroma, the pumpkin flavor, while noticeable, is overpowered by the various flavors of the pumpkin spice.

On tap at Taps Wine and Beer Merchants (Tampa, FL). Pours a light golden color with a thin white head. Little lacing. Aroma is spicy with notes of grain, wheat, hay. Flavor is also somewhat spicy with notes of nutmeg, some faint pumpkin, and little else. Generally light body with a slightly bitter finish. Drinkable ale, but not our favorite seasonal.

More of a pumpkin pie flavor than pumpkin spiced ale. Smells exactly like it tastes.

overall i can see what the brewery is trying to do, let me start by saying that i dont like pumpkin pie so that is indicated in my rating on the taste, if someone likes the pie then they might like this one.
pours a clear light orange with a thin white head that goes away quickly.
smell is of pumpkin, spices, nutmeg, cinnamon.
taste is pretty much as it smells, watery, very spicy, cinnamon, white pepper, nutmeg, and yes pumpkin.

Very good pumpkin ale that smells and tastes like pumpkin cookies/muffins. The color is more golden than amber, and it finishes fairly cleanly. A very enjoyable fall brew!!!!

I’ve had this before and it seemed better the last time (I wonder why?). This one is still a good beer though. It’s funny because I didn’t think that I’d honestly like a pumpkin flavored beer, but this one is actually pretty darn good. You can definitely taste the pumpkin & spice in it but it is not overpowering at all! Good job shipyard.
