Aroma is pumpkin pie spice, allspice, nutmeg. Mild hps and slightly sweet malts. Pretty good balance. Spices leave a slightly bitter note on the sides of the tongue. Probably fewer calories than a slice of pumkin pie. Palalte is average.
Overall a good choice for fall. I have no point of reference for pumpkin beers but it was pretty good. Generally not a fan of flavored beers I did enjoy this one. georgekappus (296), Brookfield, Connecticut, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 19, 2008 Bottle. Pours a light amber with little head. Aromas of peppermint?, nutmeg, and pumpkin pie. Taste was nutmeg and spices but also a bit sour. Bubbly on the palate like a flavored seltzer. R-dog (19), Alabama, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 19, 2008 This ale has a pumpkin orange color mixed with a shade of light brown tea, and I was anticipating a whallop of flavor, but instead it was as if someone sprayed some of that low-calorie salad dressing spritz stuff on my tongue instead. The initial taste IS of pumpkin and nutmeg, and is great, but there is so little body to support it that it rapidly fades, leaving a thin lemony fizz behind with hints of banana and/or vanilla. It gains a little body as it warms to room temp in the glass. I just finished cutting the grass and this is a nice dry and refreshing beverage to mark the occasion, but I would not go buy this again on my own. Sample received in a trade with Ratebeerian Coldbrewky, but hardly stood up to his homebrew mead which I also received in the trade. Hopdup (71), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 12, 2008 12 Oz bottle. A good nutmeg smell but a little light on the palate. You can taste the nutmeg and spices. A decent pumpkin beer but a little thin. Snojerk321 (2018), San Diego, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Bottle from BevMo. A little better than I had expected. Pleasant pumpkin aroma. Pours sort of orangy-yellow with decent, but dissipating foam. Nice pumpkin and spice flavor. Body is light to light-medium. Would make a good summer pumpkin beer, if you’re into that sort of thing. daknole (3000), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
