Aroma is close to gingerbread. Taste is the same, with the pumpkin coming out. Spicy and sweet, but watery. A nice little beer. thomasacross (129), Edina, Minnesota, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 19, 2006 Bottle. No significant odor. Very bubbly, felt overcarbonated in my mouth. Much more like a lager in that respect. Best part of the beer is a definite pumpkin flavor -- moreso than other pumpkin beers I have had, which taste of spice but not necessarily pumpkin. Vaguely metallic finish. Sort of a pumpkin-flavored Heineken. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 18, 2006 Poured a clear dark yellow color with a small head. Caramel aroma over pumpkin and spice. Almost some herbal notes. Cinnamon and cookies as it warms. The flavor starts tart and thin. Malt and spice. Some notes of cinnamon and apple sauce. Gr0ve (1411), Oslo, Norway
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 17, 2006 12 fl oz bottle. Glowing orange colour with a small head found only around the edges. Fruity cinnamon and apricot aroma with a little hops. Rounded fruity mouthfeel and flavour. Very drinkable. Notes of cherry. Thin-bodied and a little watery in the finish. Not quite sure where the pumpkin comes into the picture. Nice, but restrained spices. Shipyard has always been, in my opinion, a very consistent brewery. Few are outstanding, but most quite nice. This bottle poured nicely, though had little head, leaving a golden brown ale to look at. A nice lacing is on the glass though. The aroma is all cinnamon and nutmeg. I take a small sip and allow to savor. The mouth feels like your standard ale, just a bit on the sweeter side. The after taste though is much like having swallowed a nice piece of pumpkin pie. The only downside is that for me the flavor isn’t "thick" enough. It tastes good, but is rather thin. However, this is still a beer I look forward to buying each fall, and plan on getting a growler or two (or three) on my trip to Kennebunkport this weekend. Not the best pumpkin beer, or even the best from Shipyard, but a very enjoyable beer nonetheless. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 16, 2006 maybe the oddest arrangement of numbers for a beer.....golden orange, heavily filtered appearance with large carbonation bubbles and no head...aroma of light pumpkin and cinnamon...flavor was unique for a pumpkin beer offering, and was heavy in pumpkin pie (nice that the focus was away from the nutmeg and cinnamon for a change, with a more straight-forward pumpkin approach)...excellent, creamy palate Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark
