(22 oz. bottle from Lou’s Beverage Barn) Spice and alcohol...Pours clear burnt orange/amber with a couple of fingers of light biscuit head. Aroma is sharp, sweet and almost medicinal/chemical along with what must be pumpkin pie spice but somehow within the context of the overall "aroma" it is not appealing. Mouthfeel rough, light, prickly/pebbly and a bit astringent/drying. Flavor of lots of alcohol and the aforementioned "pumpkin pie spice". Sweet but not in a good way. It’s just alcohol and spice and it’s hard to find the underlying beer structure. Hard to finish.

Dec 24, 2009 Pours a transparent bronze orange with light carbonation and a thin spotty lacing white head. Aroma of nutmeg, toasty caramel and some clove spice with a hint of pumpkin. Body starts with pretty good fullness and holiday spice along with some toasty caramel malty sweetness and pumpkin flavor before a drier spiced slightly warming finish. A decent pumpkin ale.

Dec 24, 2009 while aroma is wafting and expected from a pumpkin beer, this guy has some thin flavor. Hardly any spices are noticeable, really just slight pumpkin and a lot of alcohol. Even though it is more candyish, I prefer the regular Shipyard Pumkinhead. Bottle at Stop and Shop next to Titanic in Miami.

Dec 22, 2009 (Bottle) Pours orange with a small off-white head. The aroma is spicy and light fruity with notes of sweet cinnamon, vanilla, light spicy nutmeg, mild ginger, pumpkin, mango and oranges. Almost no hop and malt tones, maybe some wheat crackers and spicy grass in the background. Hits of mint and caramelized almonds. The nose is surprisingly clean. The flavour is light to medium sweet and light bitter with tones of cinnamon, pumpkin, dry malt and hints of hops. The fruity and spicy notes are in good harmony. The mouthfeel is clean with a crisp, medium carbonation. The finish is fruity and spicy with a notable (warming) alcohol sting. Medium bodied. This might be the cleanest beer from shipyard so far (still a whisper of butterscotch present). Nice but simple. Mmm... Cinnamon roll!

Dec 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours a red-orange liquid with almost no head. Aroma is sweet and spicy with notes of cinnamon, marzipan and a bit eucalyptus. Taste is quite sweet with some alcohol, pumpkin and spices. Drinkable, but not very good.

Dec 15, 2009 Bottled. Clear amber with a small mwhite head. Cinnamon and orange liqour in the aroma with touches of cedar and apricots. Nearly full-bodied with strong notes of cinnamon, almonds and sweet oranges. Dryish finish of cinnamon and nuts.

Dec 12, 2009 bottle thanks to the generous sigma23. poured goldish with a white head. aroma was ginger, nutmeg, and in the words of weeheavy, pumpkinny. flavor was much the same with the presence of some alcohol. light body with low-medium carbonation.
