| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 23, 2009 Pours a hazy copper orange with a shortly lived off white head.
The aroma is citrus, grapefruit, some balancing with a bit of toffee, but nothing really complex. The flavour is pretty well the same, big on the citrus, resinous hops, grapefruit, with a bit of toffee malt flavour for balance, but no real wow factor. It struck me as more of an america style IPA then an imperial, aside from the abv.
Still, a decent beer, much better than some of the stuff people are trying to pawn of as IPA’s these days, just nothing that great compared to dogfish head’s 90 minute, and Great Divides Hercules IPA BBB63 (4271), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 20, 2009 Bottle: Coppery with rocky head and spotty lace, The aroma has notes of caramel and roasted malts, grassy and herbal hops, tangerine, crabapple, earthy yeasty esters. The taste is fruity and bitter, well balanced but there is a touch of butterscotch and under attenuated malts. Light spice notes upon the finish. The mouth feel is lively and crisp but a bit chalky upon the finish. Okay, better than two of the Pugsleys offerings from Shipyard but worth the monies. beerfest5 (200), Simsbury, Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Aroma and appearance were both great at the start as well as the taste, but eventually the taste became a little annoying, and to the last sip was getting to the point where it was a chore to finish. Great grapefruit and pine flavors and aroma. not bad, but wont do it again. ChristianScheffel (4679), Odense, Denmark
