jake65 (1274), Meridian, Idaho, USA Jun 4, 2008 Bottle: Fuzzy pale golden with a moderate white head. Aroma is citrus candy with some pale lager maltiness. Sort of musty. Flavor is fruity with citrus and orange. Some maltiness and grassey notes. Barley a hint of spice. Rather bland.
eaglefan538 (2079), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Oct 12, 2008 On draft at a small company outing at Café Gellato’s in Newark, ordered as a "Belgian Witbier like Blue Moon" and as being from California or something. Well, as soon as I started drinking it, I said, indeed, this is better than Blue Moon, but it’s still a bit watery. I said, are you sure this isn’t some A-B type of new product? The waiter later returned to confirm so, as my colleagues were humored by my beer inquisitiveness and near snobbery. In any event, this wasn’t bad stuff, it just wasn’t solid. The pour was typical for the style, slightly more amber in shade than my favorite truly white Hoegaarden, ok white colored head. The aroma was oranges, light coriander. The flavor followed, heavily citrus/orangey, a bit bready, finishing with quite faint spicing, the latter which could have made more of a showing. Lighter on the flavor and mouthfeel, but still one I could have sipped a few more of that night. Gypsy19 (219), AMERICA RISING, USA Oct 10, 2008 This stuff isn’t half bad, actually. High quality Belgian wheat beer with more flavor than some of the micro wheat beers out there. A little apricot, honey, and a smidge of citrus make this one not great, but good. Thumbs up overall. pineypower (892), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Oct 5, 2008 Had a glass at LBI Chowderfest 2008. Pours out a cloudy light yellowish color with slight orange tinge to it. Moderate white head. Aroma is of some yeast and a little citrus. Very drinkable, like a Hoe with training wheels. Expectations weren’t high because of it being an AB beer, and it didn’t let down at least. Taste was of some citrus, some yeast, but really nothing much going on. fiulijn (5880), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Oct 5, 2008 Draught at Old Dominion Brewhouse, Washington DC Cloudy blond color. Light aroma. Not much wheat character, sweetish. Very simple but drinkable. f351c4v (231), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 4, 2008 Pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Mildly dusty aroma, and nothing else. Smooth, almost creamy body, mildly chalky, hint of citrus. Not appealing, sad I tried this.
