Yum. Malty, touch of brown sugar sweetness, caramel bitterness, beautiful deep ruby red shade. Even at 7%, this is one easy drinker.

From some VERY old notes. Tap at Cheers, Yokohama. Quite thin for the style. Doughy bready nose. Mouth is all malt. Low hop rate. Decent but unspectacular.

Dark brown color. Cherries, brandy and chocolate exude from the nose. The mouth is a touch alcoholic with dark fruit and apricots. Slight warming finish. Not as balanced as hoped, but great depth and very drinkable.

Draft at GJBF 2009, Osaka. Beautiful head and orange-brown color. Thick and rich looking. Nice aroma of roasty malt, carmel. Typically doppelbock aroma. Flavor big, strong. Big caramel, sweet but a profound bitterness to balance. These guys can do no wrong lately.
