gws57 (951), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Apr 26, 2008 Had this one draught at the brewpub in Michigan City, Indiana. Clear, dark brown pour with a caramel apple nose and a bit of vodka; peaty but a bit fruity; complex, warm but not alcoholic, very good!
pnista (861), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Sep 20, 2007 Rich reddish brown with a thin film of a tan head. Sweet toasty malt and a bit of caramel. Some light fruity hops. Clean, other than the toast. Low carbonation with not much thickness. Drinkably soft. Toast burdens this. Acidity of toast with some solid sweetness. A bit of caramel. some fruity hops. Lingering toasty finish. xnoxhatex (753), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 17, 2007 On tap at the fest. Ruby red with thin off-white head. Strong dark malt aroma with some dark fruit as well. Dark fruit flavor with caramel, roasted malt and lots of dough. Medium body, light carb. A really nice beer, considerable as a growler fill. JF_GRIND (1199), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 6, 2007 Draft sampled was copper brown with a flat head. Caramel, smoke, peat and earthiness evident in this Scottish Ale. Middle of the road beer, I can see why this is Shoreline’s best seller. jackson220 (136), new lenox, Illinois, USA Aug 21, 2007 had it on tap - nice Scottish ale. It presented itself with a deep amber hue with a thin light head that was quick to disapear. Light scent of caramel. Thin but smooth on the palate. Had a nice lightly roasted malt taste, but not the fullness of flavor I like from some of the better scotish ales.
